Description:
Shyla Zoet - come lounge with me
The CD album 'come lounge with me' was made for all those beautiful and loving moments in these, never less hectic times in which we live today. The concept of making this CD was born during one of our mutual gigs. By means of different ballads and casual songs we would like to share with you the sphere of beautiful text and music which we play during our performances. We hope that you will enjoy it as much as we did during the recording.
Shyla Zoet has been actively busy with music from a young age. She grew up with standards, ballads and evergreens and was especially inspired by The Carpenters, took music lessons and played several musical instruments but singing proved to be her greatest passion. After economic studies and theatre school, she finally found her place and graduated as a singing teacher from the Hilversum Music Academy As a singer she gained abundant stage experience with several Jazz/Pop/Funk & Soul groups. Moreover she worked with many artists, both locally and abroad.
Dream Team group has shown its multiple facet qualities. This time not during a live performance, ecstatically moving the crowd, but during the studio recording of this CD with the strumming of a vibrant chord that demands so much harmony and musical creativity. The group Dream Team consists of experienced musicians, with bass guitarist Ruud Baron, Jean Louis van Dam keyboards, Leo Sienot guitar, Jai Jai Vos drums and Shyla Zoet as vocalist, proving throughout the years its solidity as a team, add the word dream and you have a real "Dream Team".
From the mixing console
Shyla's interpretations of these timeless songs with the impeccable intonation and articulation for which she is so renowned in Holland. She just gets better and better. She is not just a vocalist. She is the personification of the vocal art at its best. All this experience has well-prepared Shyla for the kind of expression required to sing the great American songbook. Yes, she can surprise you with that beautiful sound. While many of these songs have been associated with other vocalists she still manage to make us feel we're hearing a familiar lyric for the first time. Yes she breathes new life into these well-known songs and with style. So I like to thank Shyla for her wonderful voice. Indulge yourself and let the music do the job of creating ambiance and emotion at home or where ever you like to listen to your music.
