Released in 1972, Foxtrot is considered both a classic progressive rock album and an extension of Nursery Cryme, it's immediate predecessor.?As with Nursery Cryme, a particularly strong anthem, Watcher Of The Skies, opens the album with it's Mellotron lead-in.?It was also the perfect song to open the shows during the U.S. club tour that quickly followed the album?? release.?Side B features the typically ambitious seven-part epic, Supper's Ready, clocking in at just over twenty-two minutes.?The same personnel lineup from Nursery Cryme, featuring the very strong playing of Mike Rutherford, Phil Collins, Steve Hackett and Tony Banks, was carried over to Foxtrot, with Peter Gabriel firmly established as a riveting front man on lead vocals.
