‧ This is the third package in Edsel’s re-issue programme of the catalogue of Liverpudlian country superstar Charlie Landsborough. The packages include notes by Charlie himself, as well as the lyrics and photos and ephemera from his own collection.
‧ Produced in Nashville by Jim Rooney, “Still Can’t Say Goodbye” (1999), in Charlie’s words, “represents a musical journey back to the kind of sound and tradition that first cast its spell on me when I was a young boy: country-flavoured roots and acoustic music, and on this album I had the privilege of working with some of today’s finest exponents”. The musicians include Nashville legends Jerry Douglas and Al Perkins.
‧ On “Once In A While” (2001) Charlie has recorded his own interpretations of some of his favourite songs, by writers as diverse as Irving Berlin and Rod Stewart.
‧ The bonus tracks are wonderful live renditions from a concert at the Dublin Gaiety Theatre in 2000.
