The story is abuot the tumultuous life and times of Shanghai's top dance hostess during the glitter, glitz, and upheaval from the 1940s to the 1960s. Fan Bingbing, who also produced the ambitious series, is beautiful and riveting as eponymous heroine Madame Chin, who begins her life at the famous and notorious Paramount dance hall at the young age of 18.
