In Season Four, Simon Baker returns as Patrick Jane, consultant with the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI) solving the state's toughest homicides, and the man who gunned down Red John, the serial killer who murdered Patrick's wife and child. Unless, of course, the man Patrick shot is someone else. When it comes to The Mentalist, the truth is often elusive. And with an upstart new boss, puzzling new cases, and Red John never far from his mind, the unconventional Patrick will need all his razor-sharp skills of observation, manipulative theatrics and smooth charm to sidestep the system that stands in the way of the truth.
