Anees Bazmee-directed Deewangee is based on the novel plot of a murder accused shamming split personality to avoid the penance from law. And to this end he dupes everyone and reveals his true face only at few moments in the film.

The film, although a rehash of Hollywood hit Primal Fear (Richard Gere and Edward Norton), has a few spellbinding moments that hit you like a bolt out of the blue. The drama in the film unfolds at a slick pace and many times catches a viewer off guard.
