Multi Award Winning Milos( Karadaglic Announces his New Album ?Latino?
By DannyK in : Milos Karadaglic // May 24 2012
Named ?Young Artist of the Year? by Gramophone magazine and Classic FM radio for his debut album ?The Guitar?, Milos( returns with ?Latino?, his second studio album that pays homage to guitar music of the Latin world.
?Latino? comes following an incredible year for Milos(. Having released his debut album only a year ago, the classical guitarist spent 22 weeks at the No.1 position in the UK classical charts, earning him an additional Gramophone Award for ?Specialist Classical Chart?. Milos(? success wasn?t unique to the UK, and he soon travelled around the world to the US, Australia, Japan and across Europe, picking up acclaim and No.1 chart positions along the way. 2012 looks set to build on Milos(? already impressive rise to prominence in the classical world, when he gives his Proms debut this summer and returns to the Royal Albert Hall on September 25th, this time for a solo concert.
The first track to be released is ?Libertango?. The video can be seen below.
Representing the core classical guitar repertoire are solo pieces by Villa-Lobos and Ponce that share a link in the towering figure of Andre's Segovia, for whom both men composed key works. As Milos( points out, ?Villa-Lobos is an essential figure in the development of our instrument. In collaboration with Segovia he created works which really challenged the humble nature of the guitar ? its technical and musical possibilities, its palette of colour and sheer power.? Milos( makes a telling analogy: ?Segovia is to guitarists what Callas is for singers. He created a new sound world, and helped the guitar to win new admirers and earn respect as a solo instrument equal to any other on the international concert platform."
